I had been wanting to shoot an engagement session at the San Xavier Mission in Tucson since before I moved to Arizona!  When Vanessa and Frant told me that they wanted to shoot part of their engagement session there, I was so excited!  The mission is such a stunning piece of architecture, I knew it would make a great backdrop for their photos.   I was equally excited about shooting at the place Frant proposed to Vanessa, since I am all about sentimental moments!

Vanessa shared their proposal story… “Frant proposed on February 2, 2019 at Gate’s Pass.  Frant had been in Phoenix all day where he was coaching a hockey game.  When he returned home, he asked me if I wanted to go watch the sunset.  I had been wanted to go so I said yes, even though I wasn’t feeling that well.  We went to Gate’s Pass, hiked up a little bit, and sat on a large rock to watch the sunset.  It wasn’t the best sunset, but as I jumped down off the rock to head back to the car, Frant stopped me and told me that he had something very important to ask me.  He got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket, and asked “Will you marry me?” I stood there in shock and couldn’t say anything because I was SO surprised!  Frant said it felt like five minutes that I was quiet.  I gave him a hug and kiss and Frant said “So…is that a yes?” and I said “YES!”

Vanessa and Frant will tie the knot in Sedona next May and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding!
